2017 In Review: The Year of National Parks

Written by Brian Callender | Photography by Julie Boyd Coming out of an incredible 2016, we knew 2017 would have a tough time competing. After all, we had two international trips in 2016 and none planned for 2017. Well, even without leaving the country, we […]

An Afternoon in Yoho National Park | British Columbia, Canada

Written by Brian Callender | Photography by Julie Boyd Fresh off an awesome hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers, we still had several hours of sunlight left to explore the area before sunset. Julie had come across Takakkaw Falls while researching the trip, and […]

Time Travel Tuesday | Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Time Travel Tuesday | Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Written by Julie Boyd | Photography by Julie Boyd

This visit to Yellowstone National Park was in conjunction with my trip to Grand Teton National Park back in 2011. Since my family and I had already explored Yellowstone in depth a few years before, we decided to only take a brief stop in the park on our way to Glacier National Park. Don’t get me wrong, we could have easily spent a few days exploring this enormous park further, however, we ultimately decided that we wanted to spend more time in a new place (Glacier).

Moraine Lake | Banff, Canada

Written by Brian Callender | Photography by Julie Boyd As we planned out our Canadian adventure, Julie and I each had a long list of “must visit” locations. Many of these destinations were shared, and that was especially true of Moraine Lake. If you spend any time […]

Time Travel Tuesday | Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Grand Teton National Park is truly one of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in the United States. The jagged peaks of the 40-mile-long Teton Mountain Range are unobstructed by foothills and tower over 7,000 feet above the landscape. Below them, the Snake River carves through a valley of picturesque alpine meadows and sapphire glacial lakes. (more…)

2016 Trip Plans – More Adventures!

A Day Trip to the Cliffs of Moher | Ireland

A Day Trip to the Cliffs of Moher | Ireland

Written by Brian Callender | Photography by Brian Callender and Julie Boyd

While planning our time in Ireland, we had given ourselves a very open schedule so that we could relax and enjoy the last days of our trip. After spending the rest of the trip constantly on the move, our pace slowed down when we reached Dublin, and it was a welcome change. Aside from exploring the city, the only other item on our must visit list was the Cliffs of Moher. It’s nearly impossible to think about Ireland and not envision the striking views from the cliffs. Arguably the most popular tourist destination in the country, the cliffs are a tremendous draw for tourists looking to soak in the Emerald Isle.

A Day in Brussels | Belgium

Written by Brian Callender | Photography by Julie Boyd & Brian Callender Belgium was, admittedly, a late addition to our itinerary. We had planned to visit the British Isles, but not the continent of Europe on this particular trip. However, having already been to the three […]

Last Days in London | England

Last Days in London | England

After a very late night in Oxford, we slept in a bit on Friday morning before heading out to soak up the rest of our time in London. To say that we were ecstatic to have the Tube back up and running would be a […]

Weekend Getaway – San Diego

Weekend Getaway – San Diego

I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating…mini vacations are what keep those of us who don’t get to take many trips, throughly sane. Or at least partially sane with those busy work weeks!

A little over a month ago, Julie and I planned a short weekend getaway to San Diego with another couple we are friends with. While the trip was centered around a baseball game at Petco Park, we were equally excited for the opportunity just to do a little travel.

And of course to stay classy...

Mini Vacation Part Two – Monterey

Mini Vacation Part Two – Monterey

I absolutely love Monterey and was excited to visit the city again two years after our first trip. In 2012, we stopped in Monterey as part of a longer trip up the coast and we spent very little time getting to know the city. Other […]
